Kids First Track Meet

Cole and I love this pic! Classic Jetta!
They both had a lot of fun! It was cold. Freezing because of the wind! The wind bites and hurts when its going strong. It was Orientation so they each had a chance to try nearly every event. It was a lot but fun.  I think on the regular meet days we will let them pick two or three events each then call it good so we don't overdo it. We want them to like it and not get burned out.  They were such troopers.  We felt so proud of them and happy for them too. So fun that these coaches give so much of their time to teach them.  Means so much to me as their Mom.

Road Trip to Stamford, CT (Part One)

I figured since we are getting ready to plan our second trip back to Stamford, CT that I better post the pictures of our first trip.  We had so much fun! It felt so good to load the car and get on the road.  We made many memories and had an adventure.  Plus, we found out that we really like it there.  It was beautiful even in the winter months before the trees are full of life.  So many trees! Neither Cole or I had seen so many trees, and DC area has a lot of trees. We loved the entire trip. We can't wait to go back.

Road Trip to Stamford CT (Part Two - First time at the beach in Stamford, CT)

It was definitely too cold for swimsuits at this beach during this time of year, but several people were walking it and taking in the serenity of it.  A family with dogs and kids in winter jackets had buckets and were collecting treasures the kids were finding along the beach.  I could easily see our little crowd doing the same thing, someday. Before we got to the beach there was a lot of fun shops and places to eat more inland.  The beach was one favorite part of the trip for all of us. Coolest part is it was only a fifteen minute drive from downtown Stamford.  And I believe there are even closer beaches that we could have gone to instead. We are excited to go back when it's sunny and we can wear our swimsuits and feel the sun's warmth.
