Rewind: Soccer According to Ashton
Ashton's version of soccer: 1. The most important part of the game is to hug your teammates repeatedly during the game. 2. It may even be necessary to hug the other team's players several times, too. 3. If Papa Harry gives you money for kicking the ball show it off to everyone on the field or not. 4. It may even be necessary to sit down in the middle of the field and study the details in the dollar papa Harry gave you. 5. The ball is overated, just run, and run as far as they will let you go over and over and smile a lot while doing it. 6. I have the best sideline of cheerleaders out of everybody. 7. When the game is over it will be time to shake the other teams hands, and the best way to do this is to hold your hands up high above your head and wiggle both of your hands simultaneously and vigorously to the other team players.

4th of July 2012
To celebrate the fourth this year we had breakfast at a local park; a parade; and enjoyed the fun activities put on by the city. Ashton enjoyed the train ride, and Jetta enjoyed eating a snow cone with her Grandma. Jetta let us know she wasn't quite ready for the train ride so Ashton jumped in the train cart and used her ticket. However, Jetta was quick to find the mini bounce house and jumped right in. Cole led Ashton to the Giant Slip N Slipe and cheered him on while Jetta, Grandma, and I listened to some fun Karoke and had a soda. Cole found some delicious homemade tacos made by a vendor, and before we left we had bought two plates full of them....so good!
The best part of Ashton's day was when Cole took Ashton to see the city fireworks go off. It was a stretch to keep Ashton awake that late but Ashton handled it very well. He also got to go welcome his papa back from his Alaska trip at the airport. It was a fun filled day. Perfect!
I've decided I need to do better at taking the kids' pictures on holidays and family get togethers. These were some favorites from this year, and next year I hope to add more. It would be fun someday down the road ten years from now to make a 4th of July book holding the photos taken throughout the holiday's ten years.
